First series of purchase for our new house

The day starts with going to our new house to look at the progress of HDB rectification. Thought will finish by past Friday, but as usual, they have not finish most of the work. Saw one HDB Indian worker changing our kitchen wall tiles. Hopefully, they will finish work by the first week of May. Cross our fingers...

After which, we decided to go to Harvey Norman Sale at Expo. Our target: TV, Fridge, washing machine... First stop, TV section. Look through Panasonic LCD, Plasma... Sales people keeps telling us LCD not as good as plasma. But exterior is not to our liking although the price is reasonable. Next stop, Pioneer Plasma... PDP-427XG, the model that we have been eyeing since last year when it came out. Discussed with the senior sale exec and he told us about the great deal during expo sale. Buy Plasma TV, free home theatre system HTZ353DVD. We decided to ask for more... after much persuasion, got a better deal with 5yrs warranty and the small surround speakers that we wanted.
PDP-427XG Pioneer 42" Plasma TV that we have purchased.

HTZ353DVD Home Theatre System that comes with the Plasma TV.

The sales exec later got us an even better deal on the F&P fridge that we are eyeing on. What a guy! He could really promote the TV and even the fridge, finally his colleague got us a lobang to purchase the fridge at a bargain price, but need to go down to Millenia Harvey.
At the same time, we went to Lifestyle 21 expo exhibit at next door, to our surprise saw our designer having a display exhibit. Gave her the specs of the things that we bought and going to buy. After which went around to see furniture. Came across Westpoint furniture which is recommended by my colleague Serena. Saw this elegant piece of sofa measuring 3.2metre and with a big day bed (pic below).

Talked to the sales person Jeannie and negotiate a better price with alteration to have a bigger day bed to be about 1.1metre width. Brought our designer and decided to get this at a different colour-grey, poly cotton material. This is our 2nd purchase of the day. Delivery date is end July, hope that our house will be ready by then. One thing when we left Expo, the carpark charge comes out to $11.55 (so EXPENSIVE!!!), dad got stuck at the exit due to insufficient fund in my cashcard, in the end had to use sis cashcard to pay the charges.

Next stop to Millenia Harvey, talked to the person that is recommended by the sale exec in expo. Third purchase of the day... Really got the F&P E442BM (Iridium) fridge at a bargain price. This is the best buy we got today and we felt really satisfied...

After a long day hunting for these stuff, one word "tired" best describe how we felt...
Will update more when more things are bought....

Cool Refrigerator!

Ger and I have fixed our eyes on this cool refrigerator from F&P. It has a nice exterior and the freezer is at the bottom, which is different from the conventional one. Its colour is Iridium, though I have no idea why it is called Iridium but it looks kind of stylo and best of all, NO FINGERPRINT MARKS!
Quoted from F&P website:
"E442BRM 442 litres Iridium Stainless Steel
Active Smarts unparalleled refrigeration performance combined with the unique Iridium embossed stainless steel exterior - welcoming to the touch yet incredibly durable and resistant to the most stubborn fingermarks."

Happy anniversary to my dear Ger ger!

Some pics of our new house

Here are some of the pictures of our new house at Anchorvale link before renovation...

This is the view of our living room balcony, we are going to take away the sliding glass door to make the living room bigger.

View of the living room cum dining room, notice the big fat beam that run across between living and dining room... structural beam which cannot be hacked away. The wall at the study room will be hacked to make the dining room brighter and bigger.

This is the passage way from the kitchen to the bedrooms.
Please stay tuned for the pictures after renovation.... may take a few weeks to finish... patience patience...

Our new house

We have finally decided to purchase a EA apartment during a HDB walkin selection on 2006. It's at Sengkang new town. Although its a 5 year old flat, but nobody bought it due to the high price. Finally we bought it at the reasonable price by HDB after 5 whole years.

Prior to purchasing this unit, we had went to countless walk-in selection by HDB, dunno spend how much registration fee on balloting, talk to various housing agents to view resale flats.

But finally we have found our dream house, at Anchorvale link. Though Ger find it a bit big for cleaning and maintenance, but I think it will be great if we have two kids, just the right size... :)

Will post some pictures of our flat unit before renovation...
